Managing this period does sound complex if you need more staff to manage lower demand. I am sure there are a few former inusaltion installers that can help you with that. I am sure that Canberra will use more of your tax dollars to prop things up. Roll on the election.

Hi Michele, thank you for your message. The Whereis team is having a great time trekking through QLD, they've just mapped Mitchell, Surat, Injune and Taroom and are heading to Roma today. I'll be sure to pass your note to the mapping crew in case they're in the area. Thanks again for getting in touch.

I just caught eye of @steveatsensis tweet about this initiative. I followed the above link to the site and had a look at all content. I feel there is a disconnect between the objectives established in this blog, and the content of the microsite.

Firstly, is the expectation that in a time of emergency, people will visit the website to get the number for '000' or the number to text '106'. Not sure I understand its purpose. Also what does the front cover of a directory book and news on whitepages have to do with community engagement?

An example of a useful social engagement for a time of crisis is a mashup co-ordinated by @rexster found at www.builditback.org. He identified a need to collaborate a huge amount of existing information from all over the web and from different agencies for the Victorian Bushfire Recovery. Its now all in one space and logically organised from how to prevent a fire, how to get building approval and safety & prevention.

To make your engagement more useful, instead of creating another source of information, link existing sources together, and present in an interactive directory.

I’m a big fan of Yellow Pages Mobile. I locked myself out of the apartment a couple of seeks back, arriving home around 11pm on a Saturday night with no way of breaking into my apartment. I quickly punched in the Yellow Pages URL into my mobile, found a 24 hour lock smith straight away and they arrived in less than 20 minutes. I would have been completely stuck without it. So, in short, I’m not surprised the Yellow Pages mobile audience is growing at a rate of knots. It’s not just a nice to have, in my opinion, it’s a necessity.
